Nutrition and Wellness

Statement of Purpose:

All Saints' Episcopal Day School is dedicated to fostering a healthy school environment that supports student well-being and their capacity to learn. We recognize our responsibility to offer ample opportunities for physical activity and education, promote nutrition and wellness awareness, and provide suitable food choices during the school day to nurture their growing bodies and minds.

General Guidelines:

All Saints' Episcopal Day School is committed to creating a healthy school environment that enhances student well-being and learning. We acknowledge our duty to facilitate physical activity and education, promote nutrition and wellness, and offer appropriate food choices throughout the school day. Additionally, we are mindful of food allergies and specific nutritional needs of our students. Parents play a crucial role in the success of this plan. Key points from our Nutrition and Wellness Plan include:

  1. Snacks: You may send your child with a snack of your choice, preferably a healthy option.

  2. Lunch: Crusaders' Café, our lunch program provided by Green Cuisine, offers USDA-approved nutritious meals. Menus rotate monthly and include Hot Line and Deli options. You may send lunch with your child on any day. Please ensure your child brings their lunch in the morning to avoid disruptions during lunchtime, except in cases where they forgot their lunch at home.

  3. Rewards/Treats: Teachers may reward students for academic or behavioral achievements with non-food items. If you decide to provide treats for your child's class, please opt for non-food items such as stickers or pencils.

  4. Birthday Celebrations: We enjoy celebrating birthdays! If you'd like your child's birthday celebrated at school, please coordinate with your child's teacher to plan when and how this will occur. We encourage you to arrange a class activity involving your child or yourself rather than bringing in food treats.
