Library Curriculum News 2017-2018
National Library Week is April 9-13.
The Florence County Library presents:

Birthday Book Club will be on April 30 in Chapel. We will be recognizing April – July Birthdays.
Fourth Quarter Library Skills:
We will be reading books about Spring, Earth Day, etc. and doing activities that go along with the class curriculum. 5K students will continue to learn their Library Numbers.
1st -2nd Grade Classes:
Students will review Library Skills Information (ABC order, book terminology, selecting the right book, Fiction and Non-fiction). Students will explore an in-depth approach to connections before, during, and after reading, characters, setting, author’s purpose, and plot.
3rd-5th Grade Classes:
Students will continue to study reference materials and how to locate information using each type of reference. Students will also begin to learn how to navigate Discus.org.
6th Grade Classes:
We will begin a topic of Websites and Information. Students will learn how to use search engines and determine reputable website sources. This skill will be very important in middle school.
