Library Curriculum News 2017-2018 1st Term

October 9-13 - Book Fair
October 26 - Birthday Book Club ( Honoring August through November Birthdays)
We will be learning library manners, library terms, and book care. We will also be listening to a variety of Read-A- Louds which go along with the class curriculum.
Grades 1s t- 3rd:
We will be reviewing library manners, library terms, and book care. Students will actively listen to a Read-A-Loud, present a Read-A-Loud, and learn about story elements in books. Studenst will also begin learning how to navigate the card catalogue. We will also focus on Fiction and Non-fiction sections of the library.
Grades 4th - 5th
We will be reviewing library manners, library terms, and book care procedures. Students will actively engage in a Read-A-Loud reviewing parts of a book, and story elements. Students will also review card catalogue information fiction and non-fiction organization.
We will review library manners, terms, and library organization. Students will begin a research project on a career topic. The first quarter will focus on the process. For example, How to conduct research, paraphrasing, citing sources, and how to conduct an interview. Students will have access to Google Classroom for Library to ask questions leave comments.
